Dear Parents/Guardians/Grandparents/and Interested Citizens:

  • Teacher Appreciation Week - Although we appreciate all the good work that our teachers and staff do daily, this week provided a special opportunity to express appreciation and recognize their dedication and commitment to our students.   Also, a special thanks to the PTA and the School Board for their work and contributions toward this fun and delicious week.
  • Middle School Dance Institute Performance – Kristen Leach, Dance/Drama Instructor, is working with middle school students on a performance focused on bringing awareness and strategies to avoid the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other harmful substances, as well as topics such as self-harm and bullying. Both students and parents will benefit from ideas shared in the performance on how to address these difficult challenges. The performance, entitled Stronger, will be open to the public on May 30 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium.  This program is sponsored by We’ve Got Your Back.

Wellness Committee – The Wellness Committee met regularly throughout the year and developed a Wellness Policy that promotes an alliance for a healthier generation. This work reflects the recommendations of the USDA and establishes standards that will guide future school initiatives. A special thanks to Steven Piscitello for chairing this committee.

  • Graduate Research Survey – Val Carey has spent this year working on an action research project with a focus on improving family-school partnerships. She has a developed a survey to gather information related to your expectations for the roles of various members of the school community in forming effective partnerships. We hope that the information gathered will provide insight to make our family-school partnership even better. There will be links on the school website in the “Live Feed” section and on the school Facebook page to access the survey. Paper copies will be available in the main office if you would prefer. Please return paper surveys to the “Surveys” envelope in the main office. She would appreciate your responses to the survey by May 31st.

  • School Calendar- The School Board voted to amend the calendar for students which results in the last day for students as June 15th. This will be a ½ day of school. Specifics will be provide as the day approaches.
  • Girls on the Run- This Saturday, more than thirty girls in grades 4-8, several teachers and parents will participate in the 5K event at Brattleboro Union High School. This is a celebration of all their hard work this season. Please join us to cheer them on. The race begins at 10am.
