Winter Art in Winchester/Parents & Townspeople Invited! As a follow-up to a sixth grade science/art activity during Global Climate Week last autumn,another series of activities will be added next week. Art teacher, Nina Wellen, and sixth grade science teacher, Jolene Miner, will work in collaboration with Portsmouth artist and environmentalist, Dyanna Smith, who will be returning to the Winchester School on February 11 and 12. She will guide the sixth grade students in creating Andy Goldsworthy-style ephemeral/nature art. Ms. Smith will also be present to work with other Winchester School children, staff,and families, as well as Winchester community members after school on Thursday, February 11, from 3:15-5:00. The Winchester PTA will be ready to warm us with hot chocolate after our winter art is created on the school playground. All are invited to participate in the fun and creative event.
