  • Athletic Director & Athletic Handbook: As you have probably heard, Brooke Sharra has resigned as Athletic Director. She has made many contributions and most recently developed an Athletic Handbook for our programs. We appreciate all the work she has done and wish her well. Next Thursday, December 7th, she will be reviewing this handbook at the School Board meeting
  • PTO Meeting: I am honored to be a guest speaker at the December 11th PTA meeting held in the school library beginning at 6 pm. I am looking forwarding to having a conversation with you all.
  • Keene Principal Visits Winchester: On December 21st Mr. Jim Logan will be attending the School Board Meeting (beginning at 6:30 in the school’s library) to give an update and report on the High School. As a precursor to students attending Keene High, this is a wonderful opportunity for parents to gain insight into the school and its programs. We encourage your attendance.
  • School Calendar Change: Because of changes to the state testing program the March 23rd Early Release Day has moved to December 8th to provide timely training! Please note this on your calendar.
  • New Hampshire has adopted a replacement for the Smarter Balanced Assessment. Here are some of the notable changes:
    • Fewer hours of testing for students
    • The writing test is combined with the Reading computer adaptive test
    • No separate performance tasks
    • Computer assessment for science included for grades 5 and 8
    • A different bank of questions that NH has the ability to choose from
    • New Name: NEW HAMPSHIRE STATEWIDE ASSESSMENT SYSTEM

Thank you for taking the time to review this letter.

Respectfully,

Dr. Genovese, M. Duprey, V. Carey
