Dear Parents/Guardians/Grandparents/and Interested Citizens:
TESTING OF AUTOMATIC CALLING SYSTEM - Please be advised that Saturday, November 4th at 5:30 pm. We will be testing the automated phone system program that announces school delays, early dismissals, and cancellations. We are hopeful that it reaches all the parents in our database. Additionally, since we are using a slightly difference method, we are looking for clarity in voice quality as the message is received.
Advanced notice of this notification will be posted on the Winchester School Facebook page. If you receive this message please share it with other families and friends to see if they also received it. If they did not, please asked them to contact Diane, at 239-4381 so she can update the calling contact list. Remember, this is only a TEST!
Paving Project- The paving project is progressing a little slower than expected due to weather conditions. This project will extend into next week. Once the top coat is applied, we will need a couple of days for it to set so buses and other traffic will not be allowed on it next week. Next week, we will continue to follow the drop-off and pick-up procedure outlined in last Friday’s Newsletter.
Christmas for Kids - The Winchester Learning Center (A United Way Agency), Marines Toys for Tots, and Local Community are all working together to assist families in need this year. Families can sign up now through November 24th. Christmas for Kids is looking for families in need of help this Christmas season. If you are facing an economic hardship or household crisis and have children ages birth through 14 years old, you are eligible for holiday assistance this year. Children will receive a minimum of 2 toys for each child. You can apply by calling 603-239-7347. This is not a school sponsored event.
Veterans Day Observance - Just a reminder that next Friday, November 10th there will be no school, as we spend the day honoring our veterans. School will resume as usual on Monday.
Sports Banquet - We would like to congratulate our student athletes for their participation and success in the Fall Sports Program. The banquet last night was a time to recognize and celebrate their successes. Additionally, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the coaches and Athletic Director, for their many contributions these past two months. Kudos to all!
It's Time to Fall Back! This is just a reminder to turn your clocks back this weekend … we gain an hour!
Enjoy your weekend!
