SEPTEMBER NOTES
Welcome to the wonderful world of kindergarten! Each month I will include notes with our calendar so you will know what is happening. Please read the calendar with your child daily so (s)he doesn’t miss anything. CALENDAR is a responsibility with your child, often noting things we need in class or reinforcing concepts we have learned.
Please don’t forget that everyone needs some kind of backpack or bag EVERY DAY. We almost always have things to take home. Everyone also needs a plain pillowcase for relaxing time. These will fit easily in the cubbies and will provide a clean space for your child to relax. Plain pillowcases would be best so we can decorate them. The cases will come home every once in awhile so they can be laundered.
September 11: Book club orders are due. I will send orders home once a month. This is about the best and cheapest way to add to your library. Statistics show that as little as 15 minutes a day of reading to your child will boost his/her school success rate measurably. Please put money and order forms in an envelope with your child’s name on it. Don’t feel obligated to buy books, but I do want to give you the opportunity if you choose.
September 27: PICKLE FESTIVAL- We will be marching again in the parade. We will make bee costumes in school to wear. Children will need to meet us at the VFW at 9:30. We will march from there to the post office. Parents will need to meet us at the post office. More info. coming. We always have a great time !
Oct.15: We will be going on a field trip to Stonewall Farm . I will send more information about this later . Save the day if you would like to chaperone.
If you have any problems or concerns or changes in transportation, let us know. The number for the bus company is 352-2303. REMEMBER we need notes from you if your child is going home some way different from the ordinary. We can not allow a child to change transportation just on his/her own, even if we know (s)he is reliable. We have to have a note from you if someone other than a parent or guardian is picking up a child. Your child’s safety is very important to us.
